All three DSLRs have Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, but the EOS 90D has the latest and most sophisticated version. But this only applies for live view shooting and video. For regular ‘viewfinder’ shooting, these cameras will use their regular phase detection AF sensors, and here the EOS 7D Mark II scores a clear win with its 65-point Canon EOS 90D. A Really Good Camera at a Modest Price. If selecting a DSLR model, the Canon 90D is one of my top choices for general purpose cameras, and wildlife photography is a pursuit often undertaken by someone with a camera of this class. The 90D, featuring a dense 32.5 megapixel imaging sensor, Dual Pixel AF, and a host of other 4K 29.95/25p video; The Canon EOS 90D is Canon’s highest resolution APS-C format camera, with a 32.5MP sensor, so it’s perfect for making big prints of your best shots. Shoot raws and you’ll achieve images packed with close detail, good dynamic range and lifelike colours. The Canon EOS 90D is available as a body-only kit, in a kit with the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens or better yet, in a kit with the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens. These lenses, shown mounted on some of the product images on this page, are good entry-level options and feature great support for video recording. Is Canon 90D good for filmmaking? Quality-wise, the Canon 90D shoots pleasing video. 4K footage is crisp with lots of fine detail, as does 1080p. There’s also clean HDMI out up to 4K, HDR video at 1080p, in-camera 4K time-lapse and movie filter effects. The 80D was good but the 90D looks much better. Some key features that I believe make it very attractive are: 1. Smallish size and weight. 2. 32.5 MP sensor with pixels about 3.2 micron size. 3. Frame rate in continuous focus AF 10 fps. The small pixels means that the 90D + 300 mm lens will have approximately the same resolution as a 1DxII Studio photography with strobes, is one of the least demanding genres for a camera's specs as the lights are doing 99% of the work anyway. The Canon 90d is one of the best apsc DSLR cameras ever made. It will take excellent photos and can handle both EF and ef-s lenses. NKwk.
